CHS VETERANS HISTORY PROJECT
Sample video by CHS student Nadiya Khaydari ('18):
What is it?

Charlottesville High School tenth graders are assigned a mission: research 20th Century conflicts and lead sit-down interviews with Charlottesville-area veterans who served in those conflicts. Then, these students create a product that tells the story of their veteran: a movie, a Podcast, a written article.
After the students work with the veterans' stories, they can attach a face and a voice to the events of world history. Seemingly distant topics take on new personal meaning, and a soldier's story unlocks new understandings about war and what it means to be American.
